Buderus Boilers Reviews

Buderus has a very good reputation for quality. They have an assembly plant in New Hampshire where they assemble the boilers which are manufactured in Germany. They are on the pricy side for a boiler but the quality is unmatched for their sectional cast iron boilers. They also have an excellent training program for contractors and a good technical support staff to help with those odd problems or issues which arise in the field.

Our home is 80 years old and we just replaced our 20 year old unit with a new Buderus (85% eff) and, in the 10 years we've lived in this house, we've never had such smooth and consistent heat. Amazing unit. I didn't realize how bad our old unit was!

System is very efficient but the parts are very expensive. You would figure that after spending the higher price for a so called "excellent" unit you would be covered for malfunctioning parts for two years. The fan motor malfunctioned and it alone will cost $1000.00 not including the labour to install it. So much for efficiency and cost savings. Beware of this unit!!

This Buderus boiler replaced a very old boiler that was installed more than 40 years ago and I have nothing but rave reviews for the Buderus boiler systems. It cut my gas bill in half and I am far more comfortable than I was with the behemoth that was originally a coal burner and converted to gas umteen years ago. Buderus makes a great boiler.

We live in a very old house close to the sea and had problems keeping it warm in the winter. We called three contractors (we subscribed to Richards HVAC Buyers Guide which helped us a lot) and we liked the contractor who gave us his estimate to fix our problem. The did a fantastic job installing the new system (very professional) and this winter was the first winter in 15 years where I've been warm in this house thanks to Richard and the Buderus contractor who installed this system. I gave our space heaters to charity. Our new Buderus boiler is wonderful.

The boiler has blue flame technology..I had a Boiler that went by the name of Blue Ray Boiler...It had more glitches and safety issues than I care to mention..It was almost impossible to find a tech that could work on it with knowledge of it's workings.
I had to put stickers on the boiler warning of Carbon Monoxide poisoning...My concern is theis ..Is this the same case here ?..If so No Thanks JB

To answer your question John, "No". There are no common self respecting boiler manufacturers who would intentionally build a boiler like you described for this Blue Ray Boiler. Before a boiler leaves the factory it has to meet several safety tests and quality tests. Generally what happens is a manufacturer gets a bad name (as you have given Blue Ray a bad name in your comment) because the boiler is installed improperly or over the years non-qualified people perform maintenance or modifications on the system and this makes the equipment inefficient and possibly dangerous. There are many qualified boiler techs or qualified HVAC techs (and even plumbers) who work on and install boilers. There are just as many or more non-qualified people who work on boilers also. If you took your new car to a lawn mower repair shop would you get the same qualified service you would get from a qualified dealer or mechanic? Probably not. Maintenance is important along with proper installation. The manufacturers can build the safest and most efficient boilers in the world but if they are not installed properly or maintained properly by qualified boiler or HVAC Techs then you will have problems guaranteed.

I have a Buderus boiler that about 3.5 years old. It has been moderately effective given the application. However, the igniter failed which shut down, not only the heat but the supply of hot water as well.
My satisfaction has dropped from medium to low. The installer does not stock the part my unit needs and have been out of service for three days.
