Bought my Bryant Evolution Series A/C two years ago and absolutely love it. The 2-speed compressor is energy efficient and maintains the house evenly cool throughout the day and that is a lot to say considering I live in Florida!!

My utility bill was cut by more than half compared to my old Rheem AC. The humidity control is awesome, if lowered it feels like "freezer" cold... absolutely wonderful.

I've read reviews saying terrible things about Bryant HVACs, but it seems they all comment about older models. I can see why as I would also have terrible things to say about my old Rheem unit! Also reading a lot about unit not functioning properly immediately after installed. Wonder if it has to do with contractors??? The unit can be awesome, but if the person doesn't installed correctly, well....

Honestly, I've not had a problem with my Bryant AC since installed. Would definitely recommend it.

Both new a/c units have malfunctioned since installation. Bryant/carrier has denied product liability through 46 service calls and six a/c servicing companies necessitating the complete replacement by us at a cost of $27000.

COMPARED TO TRANE UNITS BRYANT SEEMS TO BE OF LOW QUALITY. THE TRANE UNIT THAT I HAD IN TEXAS (AIR RAN EVERY DAY) NEVER BROKE DOWN OR NEEDED REPAIR. THE BRYANT UNIT NEEDS REPAIR EVERY SPRING. THE UNIT LEAKED FREON AND THE REPAIR COMPANY SENT BY BRYANT DID NOT FIX IT -- JUST ADDED FREON - SAID IT WAS JUST A LEAKY VALVE. AFTER 5 YEARS FOUND IT WAS A DEFECTIVE VAPORIZER COIL -- TOO LATE AND BRYANT WOULD NOT FIX IT UNDER WARRANTY. I BELIEVE THE UNIT IS EXPENSIVE AND POOR QUALITY.

Editors Note: If you have equipment and it has problems such as described in this review make sure you take care of this matter through the warranty process. There are many consumers who are uniformed and simply do not know. I am certain if anyone called Bryant and asked someone there they would say they do everything in their power to avoid having problems as the customer described here. Do everything in your power to make sure your voice is heard including writing a letter to the manufacturer or even calling the manufacturer. Any defects in the equipment should be repaired immediately according to manufacturers guidelines. Some people get a lemon from time to time and if you write letters and make your voice heard many times you will find the manufacturer will bend over backwards to make the consumer happy.

Free at last! Our inefficient, crappy 4 ton, 12 SEER Bryant package unit finally broke down. The compressor shorted out and we had to have an electrician come out and replace the fuse box, which it burned out. The Bryant gave us nothing but grief and expense from the beginning. We’ve had multiple a/c repair companies come out, to no avail. When I've called Carrier to complain about the unit and how inadequately it was working, they would just tell me to call a Carrier dealer to have it checked out. I just think it was a poorly designed a/c unit.

The proof is that we replaced it with a 13 SEER 4 ton Trane package unit a couple of months ago. Our power bill went from $442 down to $201 the following month – a 30 day period for both, so it was a good comparison. More than ½ the savings. Incredible. With the Bryant, I would have to bend down and put my hand on the floor vent to see if there was any air coming out. I don’t think the blower had enough power. Now, with the Trane, I just extend my arm straight out (no bending over) and can feel the air flowing out of the vents. And, I can actually hear the air being sucked into the “environment air intake” vent on the floor (which houses the filter). That was a sound I never heard before while the Bryant was in place. We have probably spent thousands of dollars in high energy costs because of the "Bryant From Hell."

I would recommend to anyone shopping for a package a/c unit NOT TO BUY BRYANT (OR CARRIER, ITS MANUFACTURER).

We have had nothing but trouble with this product from the units themselves to their consumer relations. We are using York now. Somehow they are getting away with an inferior product.
