Goodman makes a good air conditioner. Had mine for a year now and its done a good job in my house.

Had a Goodman installed in my Moms house and its okay. Had a few problems with it but nothing major.

Careful, as Goodman may not honor their warranty

Have a split system in home, installed exactly one year 1 month ago. Came home from vacation to find that one unit wasn't working properly. Repairman called and found out that the computer board inside had gone bad.

The repairman called the Goodman Co. to inquire about the warranty, and upon providing the serial number, was told the warranty coverage had expired. Turns out, the units were manufactured in 2004, but apparently sat in a warehouse until installed for the very first time, and never before used, in April of 2008.

So, careful in acknowledging their claim to fame of having the best warranty in the business. So if you are contemplating buying a Goodman system and hope that they might honor their warranty, be sure and verify the unit is fresh from the factory. If you have a Goodman system and feel comfortable about your warranty, lets just hope you have a newly manufactured system or you are out of luck.

I spoke directly with the consumer affairs office today, and they were not much help, nor encouraging on me ever recouping my $500 I paid for a system that has been in service for only a year. Buyer beware !!

Now, let's see if they'll even keep my post or delete for fear someone might read it......

Worst product and product support of anything that I have ever purchased. My two month old, 3 ton Goodman condenser unit can be heard throughout my entire neighborhood. I have had my service tech here three times now to try and quiet it down and it can't be fixed. Goodman won't replace it because it is still working. STAY AWAY FROM GOODMAN.

I have called Goodman numerous times, e-mailed them with audio/video files of the noise and they ignore me. Goodman warranty is like not having any. My next step is the Better Business Bureau.

Where are my parts?

My Goodman unit is 4 years old and I came home from vacation to find it iced over. The tech was there the next day and said that I needed a condenser coil and a filter dryer. TWO WEEKS later and I am still waiting. It is covered by warranty but what good is a warranty if the parts never show up.

bad parts, bad customer service, bad warrenty

i have had a a.c. unit for 5yrs, the compressor just went. goodman said they would warrenty the part but i have to pay $800.00 for labor, while on hold with goodman cust. serv. there is a message saying that if your compressor fails goodman will give you a whole new a.c. unit. when talking to the mngr. she told me that my unit doesnt apply,and said i should of bought a extended warrenty that covers labor and i expected to much. my a.c. unit only lasted 5 yrs. what a ripoff. while talking to a cust. serv. rep i was hung up on , on purpose. if i had to grade my experience with goodman equipment and cust. service i would give them a f, if i had the money i would get a whole new brand of a.c. unit and i would not recomend goodman to anyone

I purchased a goodman split AC unit 13 months ago. have had service man out 3 times to check why it is so noisy. Now the reversing valve has gone out and that is covered under warranty but it lost all the freon and labor to install the new valve is $1300.00. Big mistake in buying this brand of AC unit. Never again.

I purchased new unit 1 yr ago. So far, working fine as promised.
The dealer did forget to install new thermostat with installation, but came back shortly thereafter and installed.

Extremely Poor AC unit , service and customer service

My husband and I purchased a Goodman AC unit 4 12 years ago and it has been nothing but a constant problem. We have had to replace 3 indoor coils, and 1 outdoor coil. Purchased the extended warranty which is a joke and good for nothing! We have paid out of pocket over $1,400 for repairs and feel totally cheated(2.400 for the unit, $100 for the warranty). Customer service is terrible and will not do the right thing and pay for the parts/labor for the last replacement. We will never recommend this company or product to anyone. Buyer beware! Will be taking further action as this has been a total nightmare and our biggest mistake purchasing this defective/lemon product! Do not buy this product or you will be sorry.
