Rheem began in the mid 1920's when Richard and Donald Rheem acquired a galvanized metal business in San Francisco, California. The Rheem brothers began making water heaters and set up an extensive distribution network to sell their water heaters. In the mid 1940's to 1950's they expanded their product line to include air conditioning and heating equipment. Rheem offers air conditioners, heat pumps, gas furnaces, water heaters and other HVAC related products. Rheem offers industry standard warranties with the purchase of HVAC equipment and extended warranties for an additional fee.

This air conditioner keeps me comfortable. I get it serviced every year and so far no problems. I'd recommend it to everyone.

I have a Rheem Class Series unit for little over a year. It is rated 13 SEER. It has been working fine w/o problem. Approximately saving about 30% of my electric bill during the summer compared to my 12 yrs old 10 SEER (Bryant). I intent to replace a 2nd unit for my upstair but the old freon 12R is no longer sold in market.
