American Standard offers four different types of package unit systems. They have the air conditioner package unit, the gas electric package unit, the heat pump package unit, and the hybrid package unit. The hybrid combines the heat pump with the gas electric for two different fuel source for heating giving you flexibility to use one fuel type or the other.

I'm looking at comparable quotes from 2 companies. One is for a 16SEER, 3 ton American Standard Package (gas/electric) unit (model is 4YCZ6036) and the other is a Carrier Infinity package system (gas/elec) unit, again 16 SEER (ARI rating of 15.5) 3 ton.
The carrier is from SEARS and the other is from an American Standard recommended company. I've interviewed alot of providers and ahve narrowed it down to these two. In other words, I'm confident they're both reliable groups who provide excellent installation and mantainenace.
My question is what's the better system if they're both comparably priced (they're about in the same ball-park /- 800 bucks)
