Is he cleaning the condenser or is he cleaning the compressor. He tells us he is cleaning the compressor but I only observed him cleaning the condenser. Okay, I'm splitting hairs here and I have heard many people call it the compressor but actually it is a condenser. The compressor is inside the condenser and it is not necessary to clean the compressor because it is hermetically sealed and doesn't need cleaning. Getting water inside the compressor (not the condenser) would be a very bad thing any way. Definitely make sure when you remove the top that you do not crimp the electrical wires to the fan motor. When you put the top back on make sure the wires are not crimped either. One other thing about this video. This is another condenser that has a dryer vent right next to it. All the dust and lent from the dryer exhaust will accumulate in the condenser coils and cause problems with head pressure which results in higher utility bills and a unit that doesn't cool as effectively and efficiently as it should. Relocate those dryer vents! What do you think?
