Pleated filters are far better than the regular fiberglass filters. They filter the air better which improves IAQ or indoor air quality. The problem with the better filter is that too many maintenance techs fail to perform regular filter maintenance. The better the filter the faster it will load up or clog with duct, dirt and other matter in the air. If someone uses the better filter (usually more expensive also) they need to make double dang sure they check it on a regular basis and change it as necessary.
